Heard him on the radio during the last England game for the first time, being an Essex fan I was already a big fan of him as a player but have to say I was really impressed with him as a pundit in the studio.

Lots of thoughtful insight that I guess I just wasn't expecting, I realise he has the experience but certainly seems to have the brain too.

I've enjoyed some great times in the past watching him flay opposition bowlers.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Heard him on 5 live basically say to the presenter that he was chatting sht and didn't understand how wildly different the formats were.

Say it as it is, son!

He is an absolute moron - with ideas such as giving extra runs for teams batting first etc.

Criminally underused by England, especially as a bowler, in white ball cricket. He was an absolute golden arm, but too often the white ball captains plugged away with the same four seamers in blocks of overs without mixing it up and disrupting the batsman's rhythm by using Ravi's slower pace and variations.

In what way?

Are you talking about his suggestion there should be some compensation for dew in day/night games to stop one side getting such a big advantage? Do you not feel it's a problem that should be explored?

The solution would have been to play the games at better times (more in the day time) or in locations where it didn't have as much effect - but as usual we need to bend over to BCCI and make sure they don't lose any money.

The stadiums are practically empty (I am out here) and for the games there is a decent crowd people would have took the days off any way to go - may have made sense to release fixtures much further in advance and had tickets sales easier (you can only buy in batches so people like me who just want to pop along to games get put off as I don't want to buy a pair or a quad.

And, No. I do not feel like a random addition of runs should be added. Over coming difficulties is part of cricket. Wether it's a rock hard pitch on the sub-continent, green-tops and humidity helping it swing in the UK or whatever slight difference between innings comes in the next place.
