I didn't even know this was a thing, until a few months ago when First Direct sent me a new debit card, which isn't recognised by their own (well, HSBC) paying-in machines!

Don't worry, they said, just pop next door to the Post Office and pay cash into your account there while we look into the problem.

Something tells me they're not looking into the problem...

I expect you are not the only one who was not aware, and still is in some cases.

If it helps keep the PO's open then that is not a bad thing, and it will be of help to those reliant on public transport now so many bank branches have closed.
