They'd all laugh at me if they knew what I was trying to do. To create a new strain of super-wine in half-an-hour with a fraction of nature's resources and a FOOL for an assistant. 'Bernard Black, he's mad,' they'd say, 'he's insane, he's dangerous.' Well I'll show them! I'll show them all!
I thought this might be useful for Phil's helping FourFourTwo, and also interesting for us fans.
I personally think that Sam Morsy is our best, closely followed by Wes Burns, George Edmundson and Christian Walton.

Who is currently the best Ipswich Town player? on 23:47 - Feb 2 by hoppy
Or to ask the question another way, which player would give you the biggest concern if they weren't available.
For me, that is Walton.
I think if you answer the question that way, with the word "concern", you're more likely to pick a keeper or a defender.
Answering the question as per the poll, I choose Burns. I think he's been the most consistently positive and creative attacking player we've had, in a sea of nearly-men. Bonne would be a shoo in if he had kept scoring like he used to (never likely to be fair), and I can see strong cases for Edmundson and Walton. But Morsy simply hasn't earned the right to be considered in that bracket.
Morsy undoubtedly gives the team more of an identity and a focus, but his propensity for disciplinary breaches (getting banned for nearly one tenth of a season for doing something that gained the team nothing) is a negative in my book, rather than merely an opportunity to see how much we miss him and therefore how good a player he must be.
Being the best Ipswich Town player must entail having the discipline to remain on the pitch, as a minimum. That our captain is the worst at showing leadership in this way is a real disappointment. When he arrived, I thought Morsy might be the difference between going up and not going up. I still think that, but not in a good way.
