Jacksons work rate off the ball was phenomenal last night 10:43 - Feb 23 with 935 viewshomer_123

The about of times he charged and chased down and caused Chelts to make a mistake and lose possession was excellent.

He also made loads of forward runs but wasn't picked up. I think part of the problem is that Celina tended to hang on to the ball for too long, and often ran into Jackson's space. I think with Aluko on the pitch Jackson would have got more service. But when he did get service, he did pretty well. I realise it was probably part of McKenna's plan for Jackson to create space for those behind him to exploit but it did strike me that Celina was just too greedy on occasions. He is clearly a talented player but I do think he is always looking to do the spectacular when sometimes the simple is better for the team.

Absolutely right. Dont really know why he was taken off. Piggott was totally useless again. Bonne should have been up top with Jackson. Should not have taken Carroll off unless Aluko came on. Our midfield had more holes than my cheese grater after the subs...and totally overrun. First time KMc has got his subs wrong...IMO.

Chaplin did so too and in the first half it was very effective. Prevented Cheltenham getting any grip on possession at all. In the second I think they went a bit more direct to stop us being able to do that and they had more bodies behind the ball and broke up play far more effectively.

Carroll had taken a knock and was clearly less effective after. I think Bakinson or Aluko could have come on for him.

Chaplin's work off the ball is so good, I think it goes under the radar sometimes but I can see why a manager would like him. He's like a younger and better Judge.

Jackson has completed three games now where he’s done just that, close down and chase paper all over the pitch. I suspect he came off because he was knackered and wasn’t capable of maintaining that awesome tempo. It’s a pity the rest of the team don’t show similar intensity, because I don’t think we do anywhere near enough of it.
