How is the FAC Semi tomorrow allowed to kick-off at 3.30pm? 09:27 - Apr 15 with 972 viewsITFC_Forever

Thought there was a black-out in games being televised between 3 and 5 on a Saturday?

I believe that as the vast majority of games are on today at 3pm, it sort of swaps around the no 3pm televised day....

The blackout is for games that kick off literally at 3pm isn’t it?

A few years back some games kicked off at 14:55 to allow them to be on TV.

Anyway, there’s no trains between Manchester/Liverpool to London so the FA chose a more suitable time otherwise it would’ve been 12:30 of 17:30.

A more suitable location would have been somewhere else entirely….

Rail works are planned years in advance, and to choose this weekend to play the semis was mind-bogglingly stupid. It’s hardly a surprise that one or more of the teams from the north-west would get in the Semis.

Yep ridiculous, the FA were informed last year about the engineering works and they should’ve had a contingency plan in case of this happening, even still they had plenty of time to change it once they knew it was happening, St James Park would’ve been ideal.

Since the F.A. don't give a flying one about supporters are you really surprised by the inane decisions that they make. It's mostly run by senile old duffers.

While appreciating that they are battling against the PL and Champions League, given some of the decisions they have made in recent years I'm not sure they care too much about their own cup.

I'm sure Madrid - Barcelona has kicked-off at 4:45pm on a Saturday before and Sky have had to wait until 5pm before they could start broadcasting live footage. May be wrong on the exact times but I seem to remember something like this happening before.

They are in massive debt, can't remember if it's £65 or £125 million. They want the revenue at Wembley (which they will sell out regardless) more than they want "local" fans attending.
