Somerset farming news 17:39 - Jul 18 with 1144 views | giant_stow | The sheep in the field in front of Mrs Ullaa's mum's house have been left to fair for themselves, but the water has dried out. Mrs Ullaa's mum and another local are on a mercy mission to ferry containers of water to their trough, while they try in vein to reach the sheep farmer. If you're reading mrs Somerset sheep farmer, you'd better answer the phone by tonight or the RSPA will be on your arse. Ridiculous - even if she doesn't care about her animals, you'd think she'd at least case about her investment. [Post edited 18 Jul 2022 17:40]

Somerset farming news on 18:27 - Jul 18 with 1035 views | jeera | I'd have called the RSPCA ages ago. Not to be a busy body or to cause problems but because they would take steps to do something to find the owner a lot quicker. Leaving it until later makes their job harder surely? It also cuts short the time the owner has to make any repairs/get someone out etc.

If a ball cock makes the water top automatically (!) thats what I was wondering too - no idea what happened tbh. Jeera, I think she just felt she wanted to speak to the farmer first really, but see what you're saying.

Somerset farming news on 00:19 - Jul 19 with 810 views | Bogblue | Sheep don't always need supplemental water if the moisture content of their fodder is high enough, so normally they'd get enough liqid from green grass and extra feed like brassicas or turnips If they're not getting that kind of extra food and the grass looks brown not green though, that's a different matter and cause for concern

No idea yet - sure the sheep were ok, but could be a while before the female ullaas speak again.
