They can bully poor sides with their aggressive batting, but when they’ve come up against decent bowling attacks they invariably crumble, give their wickets away cheaply and fail to use up their allocation of overs. This has been happening for some time now, we’ve got one way of batting and can’t adapt to the conditions or the pitch. You could say the same about the red ball game too, but when they win its all Bazball and memes and we're world record breakers, and yet when we lose they just brush it under the carpet again.

The problem is, it isn’t just this series against SA. We are getting found out and we are so rigid with our batting approach, we can’t change it when the wheels start to come off. For me, we don’t bat with our brains, it’s simply smash it, smash it, smash it. We need a balance. I’d drop Roy and Livingstone for a start. [Post edited 31 Jul 2022 18:07]
