Progress over last season 22:26 - Aug 16 with 633 viewsxrayspecs

Have posted this before, so updating.

If we are to be challenging top end this season then we need to better our points total against top 6, against promoted sides, and against bottom half direct teams more generally.

We have 4/6 points from Bolton and MKD, an improvement of three points from last season.

We beat promoted FGR, having got 4/24 points against promoted sides last season. So another step forward.

We have three points from Burton, two more than against them and Shreswbury away last season. Tonight was a difficult anti-football game that we weathered, rode our luck and showed our class can tell against such poor footballing teams. We go again on Saturday.

A loss on Saturday would not be a disaster, we would be level with the 2 points a game average after five games. A draw or a win would be better. Onwards and upwards.

All about building momentum as well innit.

By the time we had anything resembling a head of steam last season, automatic was long gone and the playoff just a long shot.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Honestly can’t see us losing until Sheffield Wednesday at the earliest a month from now. We might have a draw or two but McKenna is just so good at analysing games and getting us set up to exploit the oppositions weaknesses I just can’t see us dropping many points other than against the very best teams in the league.

Accrington away on the 3rd will be the test, we’ve been up there before while flying got turned over and lost all form and belief. They will try to kick us off the park, try to get Morsy sent off and will rain long high balls into our area from corners, throw ins and free kicks. It will be a horrible spectacle and one we’ve failed badly in every year we’ve been in this league.
