Fantastic, Phil. I started watching Ipswich at the age of 9 in 1969 a couple of months after Bobby Robson took over, and agree how lucky we were to be growing up around that time. Sadly not many people younger than us outside Suffolk know just how good we were then, but those of our age and older certainly do.

Cheers. Was a little handicapped for their purposes of running through the game by having been 10 at the time, but think I did OK!

Well done , as a 20 year old that trip to Amsterdam was the pinnacle of the season, have some rare old photos of the trip.... I also attended the Bosco Jankavic match at Ayresome Park , what a contrast especially as we thought we effectively won the League at half time. There was also the Paul Power semi final again a heartbreaking affair and you were absolutely correct that there wa no way spurs were beating us had we got to the final. I was so lucky to be of that age at that time with no ties to keep me away from the climax to that massive year.

Sadly I was doing my finals at university at the time of the final, so had to make do with listening to it on the radio. It was very nerve-racking as I recall (maybe the radio made it worse), and because it didn't seem get much coverage where I was, I had to make do with limited TV highlights later in the evening. I do, however, remember the heartbreak of the semi-final as I was there.
