That was belted out all game and by the final whistle the away end was a real party atmosphere. The support was as good as the team again and it's pretty easy when we keep racking up wins like that.

The officiating today was utter dross, from KVY being two footed from behind and nothing being given when he was clean through to the most niggly of fouls or obvious offsides missed, neither side really got much justice.

McKenna spoke really well after the game and was still highlighting problems and errors so if we want to focus on those, Donacien being below his usual excellence and the lack of end product finding KVY and the complete ignoring of Davis in the first half as outlets probably stunted our game a bit.

TJJ up top and the exclusion of Burns and Edmundson can be seen as depth, injury troubles, conservatism or whatever else you want it to be, but it does show the way in which tactically we are miles ahead this season as well as overall fitness. Physically and mentally we seem capable in any situation.

All three goals had something really pleasing about them, whether it was the individual brilliance of the first or the cross from Davis for Chaplin or just killing it off from Jackson by gobbling up the rebound.

It feels like the players can and will get all sorts of goals just by daring to work their way into openings rather than being desperate.

As excellent as the spine of the team were I thought Davis was MOTM as he seemed to have Pennington chasing shadows and linked up with everyone around him so well. But you can pick any from a list of five most likely yet again and not feel it was a robbery.

While it really feels like it's our season and things are set up to win this bloody league, it's pleasing that we keep clean sheets and we see games out. When defeats do come you feel like it won't send us on a spiral or be a series of "if we can just...." scenarios to keep the dream alive a bit.

It's pretty easy being positive and going to games and enjoying it when we are on a run like this, but you get a sense it hasn't been like this for so long because this team is different to all that dross and bullsh1t served up between Hurst, Lambert and Cook. I just hope we can hold onto McKenna long enough now.

Today was a stunning marker to put down and we've deserved this start without question.

The ironic cheers from the home fans in the 95th minute to greet their first shot on goal underlined our dominance. And yet felt we never got out of third gear. A very good sign even if Shrewsbury are one of the worst sides I’ve seen at this level. How many times did they pass the ball out of play? Must have been double figures at least

The keeper did it from a goal kick, but generally speaking we are very good at cutting angles and chasing teams down when they go short. Ladapo was unlucky against MK with that.

I think with everything else there's a real belief we can nullify teams' main threats. We wasted a great counter when they messed up a corner and we charged forward and seemed to outnumbers them at least 3 to 1 and they got away with it.

Unlike Matt at FGR or the lad Burton had from Nodge up top Udoh didn't really have a sniff to control the ball or find a runner as Walton was always happy to sweep up or take the ball into his feet.

Yeah that counter attack which we messed up was frustrating. Still, our lads can now enjoy some time off while our rivals have to play in the league cup this week. Big game for Barnsley at Leeds on Wednesday. Quick start by us next week and we could blow them away.

Lovely to hear.

Hopefully starts to ease the nervousness some seem to have around Davis’ price tag.

I like the shorter versions though.

They're all well written, don't get me wrong.

But for people like me without much patience or a long attention span it could be hard work. By the time I'd got to the bottom I'd forgotten the beginning.

I have always upvoted though, appreciative marks for effort and all that.

I didn't know you did a podcast? Who has to edit that down then?

Well I for one am looking forward to your first novel.

I shall leave it a good review but in truth will probably wait for the film to come out.

It just feels different. More convincing than some of our previous early-season good runs, less flukey.

There's still a bit of nervousness - can the team cope with each different sort of challenge. But each time, we are.

Shrewsbury were pretty dreadful, goal kicks frequently going straight out, passes likewise, losing the ball, lack of penetration in attack (you can see why they haven't scored at home). But we didn't give them any chance to sort themselves out.

Great to catch up with you as well.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Yes mate, and you too. Hopefully see you again soon but think I've got a bit of a drought after Wednesday away in terms of away games.

We were talking about Port Vale as a possibility yesterday. Otherwise it's deep south-west territory.

I'll definitely be at Vale, one of my former pupils is there and it'll be nice to give him some abuse whilst he's at work for a change!

Shrewsbury were dreadful but to put the huge gulf into perspective, Udoh is still injured and shouldn’t have been playing. He really wasn’t at it unlike last season. Bowman came on from the bench despite being on the injured list. To be fair he did ok. They only had six subs on Tuesday v Derby. Shrewsbury were one of the teams that voted against five subs the last time it was tabled citing lack of funds and a small squad. Last season we didn’t do too well against some of the ‘weaker’ teams but this season seems different. We put two forwards on from the bench despite being two goals to the good. It puts a whole new slant on ‘seeing the game out’ COYB

It's really clear how deep our squad is compared to most of the division now we've played and beaten 4 teams who all couldn't match us in any tangible way.

I'm not a fan of 5 subs, but it helps us massively at this level so if we win the league with it then you can see why smaller teams will feel aggrieved and we will not care a jot.
