I really enjoyed the game yesterday 08:58 - Aug 28 with 547 views | DJR | Barnsley were a good footballing team a la MK Dons, which didn't quite fit with their time-wasting tactics at the end. They quickly got 10 men behind the ball and made it difficult for us to break them down, but at the same time they were on occasions when they broke well and looked threatening. I thought our former player Luke Thomas looked good. For the first seventy minutes there wasn't much in it, but the disallowed goal and the chances we had in the last fifteen minutes meant that we fully deserved to win. The last ten minutes, in particular, were as exciting as I can remember in a long time, and compared well to last season when often we petered out as a team from 70 minutes onwards when things weren't going our way. For the first time in a while it is enjoyable to watch us and even when things are not going our way we still look like we might be able to do something about it. Which certainly wasn't for a good few seasons. And we do not the barely comprehensible post match interviews that took us all for fools, even after we had watched the same game. So enjoying watching Town again and done some long Journeys to do it from Ireland. Flight on Sunday from Dublin to Exeter getting in at 9.25 works nicely for Plymouth and it is worth doing the way we are playing at the moment.

Pre match has gone up a notch, was actually enjoyable to get there a little early, rather than roll in 10 mins prior to kick off. As for the team and performance, biggest obvious difference is that we get stronger from 70 mins. You know those last 25 mins, we’ll get on top, and create chances, sadly well defended by Barnsley yesterday. The way we play too, gives a confidence that it really is just the odd moment the opposition will create, and again to be fair to Barnsley, they took those well yesterday. However, we still win but for a horrendous decision by the official, and at no time did I feel they would knick it. That confidence also shows in the crowd and atmosphere. Just so much better. Loving it.

Remember the days where could play for 60 minutes then die a death for the final 30.
