Are you watching this content in HDR?

I ask because if you have a TV that is HDR compliant but is rubbish at displaying HDR this can have a massive effect on the picture quality. This is where higher end TVs come into their own. My main TV in the living room is an LG OLED and HDR pictures are absolutely stunning but I got another HDR capable TV free with our Virgin Media contract a couple of years ago and trying to watch HDR content on this display is near impossible as it's so dark.

Your TV may have different "Picture modes" such as Sport, Movie, Games etc. Should be accessible from a Main Menu or similar button on the TV remote control. It's worth playing about with these as it can make quite a difference.

Similarly some TVs have "Sound modes" such as Centre Focus, Action etc and the wrong one can render dialogue inaudible. Cycle through them if you ever find dialogue hard to distinguish.
