Ive had an email from Bulb today 09:08 - Sep 27 with 743 views | nodge_blue | And they are lowering my payments by £50 a month! They put me up to £200 a month in the Spring and Ive built up a surplus over the Summer. Now they are saying that as Im getting £400 off from the govt, and the govt are spending billions to cap it, then I don't need to pay any more than £150 a month! At face value its good news but Im thinking I was okish with £200 a month - I was just worried about big rises on top of that. I don't need the country to bankrupt itself to get me to £150. Maybe some good news for folk though. [Post edited 27 Sep 2022 9:28]

Those ski trips are expensive you know.

They say: We've included any upcoming Energy Bills Support Scheme payments in our calculations. then: All electricity customers will get £400 off their bills with the UK government's Energy Bills Support Scheme. It will be paid in instalments of £66 in October and November, and £67 each month from December to March. So that means the £400 isn't being used to reduce my payments but is on top? This seems madness now.... I haven't used gas at all yet for heating. Maybe their calculations are off.

I think it's all utterly confusing and the Govt allowing energy companies different ways of implementing it is going to cause a few problems. EoN Next are reducing my direct debit by £66 and crediting the £66 onto my account. So instead of £241, i'm paying £174, but my account will still show a £241 payment. They didn't explain that initially though, so just said they were reducing the DD which isn't giving me £400, it was just increasing debt!

Im still not sure if Bulb are saying that the money is in effect reducing my bill or whether that is going to be paid directly to me. Im assuming its the former.
