Bit of a pointless story, but... 21:29 - Oct 23 with 606 viewsKropotkin123

I've recently started playing football again out here in Canada. I became friends with a Brazilian guy and he invited me to a casual game. A load of expats and the quality is pretty good for the most part.

After my second game (today), I walked back to the bus stop. I went one stop and then two guys who I was playing with got on. We didn't know we were going the same way and after the initial confusion and a laugh at my expense (I could have had a lift) we had a good chat.

Turns out they are Nigerian expats, so I started raving about Finidi George and they were instantly saying how great he was and we were reminiscing about some of his goals. I tried to explain that Sunderland chip.

I tested the water with Jay Jay Okocha, to get the extent, and he doesn't quite have the same status. But still a lot of love for Finidi.

Where are you playing.? I was there in 1978 and played in Ontario for Armourdale FC. The put out over twenty sides a week including girls teams then right down into juniors. A lot of the teams were very ethnic based with a few Canadians.
Town came out on a tour and played Toronto. I was able to meet up for a drink with Roger Osborne, who had been in my class at Farlingaye.
