Loan watch - and should we buy Paul Smyth? 08:48 - Oct 30 with 908 viewsunstableblue

My Orient spies tell me El Mizouni had an absolute blinder for Orient yesterday, he played the full 90 in central midfield as they beat Salford 1-0, to open a 3 point gap at the top of League Two. Our 22 year old Tunisian is a real fan favourite at Brisbane Road - can he one day become the new Morsy alongside Humphreys?!

Of note Orients striker Paul Smyth scored another cracker. This is a seriously talented player, and although 25, may be worth a look? 7 goals this season. Huge work rate.

Our Indonesian wunderkid Elkan Baggot, a nailed on Town centre back of choice in a few seasons, secured another full 90 mins, as his loan side Gillingham lost 1-0 away to Doncaster. Earning Doncaster’s new manager Danny Schofield his first win. A result that plunged the Gills into deeper trouble, as they drop to 20th, 1 point off a relegation place. A relegated scrap for Elkan to experience.

Our double agent Rekeem Harper didn’t play yesterday and is priming himself to steal 3 points, as his Exeter City play away at Plymouth in the big West Country derby. Before stepping aside to hand town 3 points later in November.

Sadly Corrie Ndaba remains injured in what is becoming a frustrating season for our left sided defender. He wasn’t available to go full double agent and take some points off one of our promotion rivals. Despite the 4-2 score line his loan club Burton Albion were well beaten by Sheff Weds.

Motherwell’s number 24, Matt Penney, played a part and the full 90 mins as his loan club won 1-0 away at Dundee United.

I thank you.

If we go up I could see us cashing in on El Miz, particularly if Orient go up. Maybe the club think his celiing is higher and loan him out again but I think we'd look to recruit a midfielder of Prem level quality while we're in the Championship.

Whatever the outcome I'm really glad he's having such a good season. Has always given his all when I've watched him play

Thanks.

Out of those lot, Ndaba is the one to watch IMO.

RIP Sir Bobby

As much as I’d like to see El Miz succeed, and believe he is a talent. I agree that if (IF?!) we do get promoted we’d invest in a serious central midfielder, of top championship quality.

I think El Miz is well behind Evans, and probably Dom Ball as well, and they’re probably not good enough for a strong Championship campaign.

But you never know Shefford, he may come back and light up pre-season training and earn a bench place next season.

I’m convinced Baggot will make the first team regularly, either next season or the one after.

Not sure I agree, thought Ndaba looked a little overawed in the pre-season friendlies.

Baggot all the way for me.
