To be fair, I thought Rob Page explained it well.
First World Cup in 58 years and he’s going to reward the players that have played a bit part in getting them there over the years.
Obviously he will pick the best players but the likes of Williams, who possibly won’t feature, are going to be included over someone like Burns, who also won’t play, but has a handful of recent caps.
I can see the logic and admire the loyalty beyond the 16-18 players he probably expects to feature in the majority of matches.
I’d have loved Wes to go if involved regularly but if he’s not going to have featured I’d much rather we had him available and maybe even with a chip on his shoulder or point to prove. | | | |

Phillips was great in the euros, but he's only played 1 minute of Premier League football and a handful of cup appearances. Shambles if he goes. |  |
