As an aside t highlights the UKs chronic housing provision
Hundreds of thousands of UK citizens living in shoddy private rented accomodatio, often paid or subsidised by the government. Money that could better be put towards building decent housing, where the money is NOT leeched out of the public purse.
This is one of the causes of so many being unemployed in one area and job vacancies in other areas - shown as I assume many of these Ukrainians have found work, as they have been able to live in the 'better off' areas where there is work.
it would need a government to take a grip and get building, as was with both Labour and the Tory governments of the 40/50's. But the amendment being demanded by recalcitrant Tory MPs to the bill requiring mandatory targets for house building shows where we are in this matter.
It is acting as a serious drag on the economy and wiull get worse as the economy moves away from moving people to data (bye bye HS2) and moves to data going to where people are.
And as English is now spoken by most under 30s (?) across Europe why bother with setting up certain jobs in the UK when they can be done in Europe via the internet. Staff that do not require the high wages anyone in the south (UK) does.
Numpties talk of a visa scheme, blissfully unaware that anyone seeking to move to the UK on a salary of £40k plus will struggle to buy anywhere in much of the UK.
Sadly, we are in a situation where we seem unable to feed all of our population so any hope of housing them is a forlorn hope. We are now struggling to deal with their medical needs as well. As to keeping some warm that is no longer a certainty either.
Still why ask why, when the obvious reason is naughty migrants arriving by boat, eating all the food, using up the energy and occupying all the houses - with their chronic illnesses filling up the hospitals. |  | |  |

They will be required to move to places where there is accommodation, or return.
As shown, many are getting a false impression of what the UK is, and imagine that were they to migrate to the UK permanently they would be able to afford the level of housing and work in the same place/environment. | | | |
