Lyle Taylor - Centre Forward - Nottingham Forest 00:52 - Dec 23 with 2071 views | TalkingBlues | Big target man, left out of 25 man squad (don't think he's played a game this season??) 32 years old, not injured (but obviously lacking match sharpness) loads and loads of pedigree at Championship and League 1 levels, contract ends Summer 2023, no chance of getting another at Forest, can't imagine he'd command hardly any fee given contract timescales, lack of games and age, could be an absolute steal for someone like us. Punt-worthy?

Lyle Taylor - Centre Forward - Nottingham Forest on 05:33 - Dec 23 with 1937 views | ArnieM | Problem is he’s take a month to get up to speed, and we can’t afford even an ounce of that throttle now. Teams like Barnsley, Derby are closing in. Don’t fooled by the length of time we’ve been in 2nd place. I’d say that’s very much under threat.

Given the number of long term injuries we’ve had to endure from day one it seems, I’d say it demonstrates what a bloody good squad we actually have. If we had a full compliment of players to allow better rotation giving players a rest every now and then, intensity would undoubtedly have been higher in more recent games snd the gap between us at Wednesday would have probably been still 5 points, or more. Pivotal window for us …. I say “ us”!, because you don’t come across as one of us tbh!

And up until the last game, top of the form table too! As frustrating as some of the recent results have been, I completely agree with you that the strength of the squad has kept us in a good position ahead of an important window.

I am quite happy to tread water until the end of the season if we "have been for ages" while we have moved between top and second and remained clear in an automatic promotion place. Of course, I would rather we kicked on and had promotion sewn up by Easter.
