Anyone else notice Burgess before the pen was taken 00:41 - Apr 19 with 2448 viewsle2blue

Their goalkeeper coach was trying to signal to the goalie where to dive, having reviewed something on his iPad. Burgess clocked it and was dancing around in front of him so he couldn't see the keeper and tell him.

Clearly worked as he dived the wrong way....marginal gains!

Didn't see it..... But give that great big lovable Aussie a pat on the back....
I did notice him calming down Clarke, at one point. So he's clearly quite focused, which is good to know.

Didn't spot that, but for me Burgess was up there with Broadhead as MotM. He was immense at the back, we could so easily have conceded a second. Also got forward on several occasions and linked well, didn't put a foot wrong. Most improved player this season.

No, but I noticed the attempted scuffing of the spot and series of snidey looking comments/intimidation of broadhead which Chaplin got fed up with. Was like Kane v Colombia all over again.

How none of their players got booked for their antics around the penalty whilst Chaplin did get a yellow is really beyond me.

There was a bit of a change in terms of speeding up after the penalty, although actually I still didn’t think the goalie was particularly quick even after that!

Missed that not was notable that Chaplin and Burns deliberately tried to absorb the sh1thousery from their players to keep them away from Broadhead.

I never get that, the ball is static, it not going to bobble on a scuff

It’s easier to strike a ball clean off a flat, unscuffed, surface. Also, players tend to ‘scuff’ the area around the penalty spot so to make the turf ‘loose’ in the place the kickers standing foot will go, to encourage a slip and a miss kick. Then on top of that you have it being done for purely psychological reasons.
