Does anybody here still read a tabloid newspaper? 06:26 - May 11 with 900 views | Coastalblue | There really does seem to be very little merit to them these days (if there ever was) and they largely feel a throwback to a past era. Whilst it's hard to put much trust in most news outlets surely nobody can take them seriously any longer? The days of the tabloid must be coming to a well overdue end? The power they once weilded thankfully now being much diluted. Interested if anybody does still regularly buy one and how they view it?

Data from March 2023. "In March dailymail.co.uk received 623.3M visits with the average session duration 20:59" I suspect 20 of those minutes is frothing about foreigners and the EU and the 59 seconds looking at pictures. For comparison, The Sun had 115m visits in March 2023. SB

Well quite. Easy access to youtube and Twitter means people see all sorts of conspiracy misinformation far easier than having to go to a paper shop. [Post edited 11 May 2023 8:14]

It is apparently the most widely read English language news website in the world, with separate versions for the UK, US and Australia. I had at one time thought that its influence in the UK would decline with the decline of the printed media but this is clearly not the case. And as Buhrer suggests, many who don't visit the website regularly, may well get updates on their phones. As it is, I do tend to glance at its main political stories most days because I like to see what angle it is taking, and especially like to look at the best rated readers' comments to get an idea of the mood amongst its readers. I also like to look at the Times and Telegraph online to get an idea of what they are thinking, although both have a paywall, so it is not possible to read actual articles.
