I was going to say in my OP that this should be a film, but I got pelters last time I suggested something be made into a film, so didn't bother. It is an incredible story how they survived (but also has the trauma of losing their mum of course).

About 20 years ago I saw a Werner Herzog documentary called Wings of Hope which was the incredibly miraculous & moving story about a young girl who was the only survivor of a plane crash in the Andes/Amazon. They must be quite an affluent tribe to afford plane travel, unless it was a mercy flight. Must have been traumatic your Mum dying ,and having to survive on your own none the less.

Genuinely being mega cynical and asking if this is a Channel 5 teaser announcing that they have recently recorded a reality TV show based on Jungle survival.

Herzog is a great auteur, must seek that one out. in the meantime there is another documentary on the BBC's Storyville strand about Andean plane crash survivors: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b008s9l9/storyville-stranded-the-andes-pla
