is it? Let's wait to see - he's not proven in the championship yet.

For the record though - I think it's a really good bit of business and am pretty confident he'll be a success. And presumably Mr McKenna agrees with me so all's good!

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

£1.5m for a promising young League One striker (if one considers Hirst only on that basis) is not a bad bit of business in the current climate.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

What do we think the Bristol City fans think of this one?

Whilst getting this deal done at a ridiculous price might indicate inappropriate behaviour, I have concluded my assessment and have determined there is no information to indicate that a criminal offence has been committed.

In short, this sort of robbery is unwise but not illegal.

That our owners have better financial controls than theirs. If Ashton overspent at Bristol*, it's because he was allowed to.

* I don't think this was necessarily the case.

Agreed, he is not proven in the Championship, but from what I’ve seen he looks a really good fit for the way we play. I noticed with Keno’s Town in 5 daily postings how much Hirst figured in the goals we scored Feb on. Even when not scoring, he was pulling defences about. He has size and isn’t going to be bullied very easily. I love the way he tore the Barnsley CH and Derby’s Cashin a new one.

He also seems to get on with the players really well. I think he’ll be a real asset to us. I agree with the OP, this might be daylight robbery. I hope so!
