So who th8nks the Premier League is the best in the world? 16:32 - Aug 29 with 842 views | ArnieM | Harry Kane has got off to a great start in the Bundesliga, with 3 goals and 1 assist in two games. Harry was asked what the biggest difference between the Premier League and the Bundesliga was, and he said: “The atmosphere in Bremen was incredible, very different from England and the Premier League. It was a league game, but it felt like a big European night, like a Champions League game.” This highlights something we have thought about for a while... The Premier League brand is so overhyped and portrayed to be the best League in the world, yes, the quality of football and players on show and the fact we have dominated on the European stage does back that up, BUT the atmosphere at many games is sterile and sanitised, yes there are some exceptions, Nottingham Forest, Selhurst Park, newly promoted Sheffield United and no doubt at Kenilworth Road when Luton finally kick off at home to West Ham this Friday night will be an electric atmosphere but in the main most grounds are severely lacking the atmosphere of a bygone era other than when the players kick off at the start of the game or a goal is scored, all you can normally here is the loyal hardcore away fans who have only had to pay £30 and are on a jolly up. We think there are a few reasons for this, in Germany the fans are treated as fans and not as customers as is the case in the Premier League, and the overzealous restrictions put on the fans who are scared to pass wind with the fear of being ejected looming over them. Obviously, the cost of season and match day tickets for home fans has priced out the many of your everyday working-class supporters and the increased focus on corporate packages and football tourists has played a huge factor in silent stadiums. We're not saying bring back the old days of the 70s and 80s where there was a nasty underlying edge or to legalise flares of the like that you see all over Europe although it must be said it does make for a cracking atmosphere, but please stop all this forced fake plastic flag waving that the clubs put on your seat or those annoying clapper things which is all manafactured by the club and not the fans. Interesting comments here from “ Proper Football” article….. thoughts people? Let's face it the German model has got it right, majority fan-owned clubs who focus on the fans and make it affordable to pack out a stadium with people who are solely passionate about getting their team over the line. The increasing number of safe-standing areas may help the atmosphere in time but the statement ‘The Premier League is the best League in the world' is nothing more than propaganda and advertising the brand/business model. You may not all agree with the above but that's how we feel. Lol #PremierLeague #Bundesliga #harrykane

You/they might be right though, I haven't been to a Prem game since we were there and it's difficult to tell what the atmosphere's like on the telly.
