New book. on 12:55 - Aug 30 with 838 views | J2BLUE | First of all, how utterly scummy it is for the author and the publisher to try and make money off something like this when the war is still going on. To include things like this about two of the three most important people in the world when it comes to the future of the war is pretty disgusting IMO. No doubt he didn't give a polished performance at the White House. He's a relatively young man who probably expected to make some improvements to everyday life when he became president and ended up facing a global pandemic and a full scale invasion from a country the West is very keen not to provoke. I'm sure he was terrified and desperate to return with some serious promises.

Agreed. And add to that the fact that Biden's primary motivation in inviting him will have been to "clear up" any "misunderstandings" that could possibly happen in the future with regard to Hunter Biden's business dealings etc in Ukraine. It would be very shtty of White House insiders to be leaking this stuff during the same administration and about any "Live" Foreign Policy matter. To do it in a way that undermines Zelensky during the ongoing War is clearly a deliberate attempt to damage him and cause a further breakdown in trust with other NATO partners.

I really can't see any analysis of this situation where the west is very keen not to provoke the Russians, they're spending billions arming Ukraine.

I meant into a wider conflict which has been the entire basis of the American response. They are agreeing to provide more arms etc but ramping it up slowly so it doesn't escalate. I am not criticising them, just making a point. it's a delicate balancing act.

Surely we are beyond the point of ‘provoking’ Russia when they have hundreds of thousands of troops in Ukraine, shelling civilians. Not so much provoking the ‘Russian Bear’, as unprovoked rabid cocaine bear.
