So many positives from that 09:52 - Sep 20 with 679 views_clive_baker_

What a win, absolutely fantastic stuff and once again brilliant support from the travelling Town fans.

I'll start with Hladky, excellent performance I thought. Seems to be growing in self confidence, positionally strong, made a few smart stops that you would expect him to as well as 1 from Adams that was top drawer. Not sure he knew a lot about it but made himself big and fortune was on our side with that one. Yet again good with his feet and looked calm and composed. From where we were there was one left footed pass in the 1st half that looked dangerously close to their forward (think it was Armstrong) but it may have been deceptive, that was a bit hairy but otherwise faultless really.

The back 4 to a man were so solid and well organised. Williams is class, he's got ridiculous pace, technically excellent, has a bit of bite to him as well which I really like. He's like a young Taricco, he's obviously still getting up to speed having barely played in the past 12 months, and looked absolutely smoked on 60 minutes, but if we can get him, Davis and Clarke all firing we're in really a good place. Special mention to Woolfenden too, he's almost becoming a victim of his own competence like Morsy, we've come to be very expectant now, but he was exceptional last night from the 1st minute to the last. His reading of the game makes his defending look easier than it is at times, whether it be aerial duels or blocks on Adams etc. So good last night though.

I felt a bit for Taylor, tough game for him to come in to and there were elements he did well, won the ball back for Chaplin's chip against the bar, and some other good defensive contributions. He seemed to want an extra second on the ball at times and conceded some cheap possession, would like to see him a bit slicker, but I'm sure that'll come. I think there's a good player in there.

Hirst and Burns put in a real shift, the latter especially having to play the full 100 minutes or whatever it ended up being. He covered so much ground, it's a shame he couldn't cap that performance with a goal when he cut inside.

Hutchinson, what a performance. Another who clearly is getting up to speed with the physicality and fitness side of things, but for an hour he was purring. So confident on the ball, huge amounts of ability but also prepared to work for the team, press quickly, largely used the ball well and made the right decisions in possession. So impressive, can't wait to see more of him as he's a player with genuine X factor.

Subs all had an impact too. Harness got involved well, Ball looked composed and steady (thought he was heading for a red card at one point), Scarlett showed some nice touches too.

Should probably mention the ref too. We're quick to be critical of them, and disallowed goal aside I thought he was really good. Let the game flow pretty well IMO.

Fans were great, journey home was smooth, huge win and on to Saturday we go. Up the Town.

Agree with all of that. Apart from the goal (and the Bhaji wrap from the street food van outside the ground) the highlights for me were two brilliant tackles - one from Wes, the other from Harry I think - showed such desire to get the ball back when we’d lost possession. Brilliant stuff.

I was also thinking that Williams reminded me a bit of Taricco - not least due to his love of a tackle!

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
