Ireland got away with a real thrashing there..

Doesn't seem right does it, 280/4 after just 31 overs and they walk away with the draw..

I'm not sure thrashing Ireland in English conditions is perfect preparation for a World Cup in India. I am a cricket fan, but I haven't watched a single ball of the recent one day games against Ireland or ?New Zealand.

This is the England B team. None of them will be going to the World Cup.

Thanks. I didn't realise, which shows I haven't been paying it any attention.

England have seemed to keep finding games this season where it's pretty much the only place in the country where it's raining, it must have been a hell of deluge to call the game off by about 1500?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Yes, very odd, given just over half an hour had elapsed between the players going off and the decision to abandon the match.

Strong wind hampered the efforts of groundstaff to cover the square and the bowlers' run-ups but water is understood to have got under the covers on the pitch.

By 15:40, the ground itself was bathed in sunshine and the forecast for the remainder of the day was good but the umpires determined conditions would not improve sufficiently at a non-Test ground to enable play to recommence.

I was in Gloucester at about 3pm and it was seriously torrential. Then ,as you say, sunny about an hour later.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I popped out and couldn't believe after I got back and switched Sky back on that it was showing it was all over after 31 overs, very rare they make that decision so quickly..

Same. I get the feeling punters were short changed yesterday. Had that been at Lord's or somewhere, and it was against Aus or India for example, they may have been a bit more patient.
