The only Culture novel I've yet to read is The Hydrogen Sonata, just can't bear the thought that there will be no more. And so I will have this to look forward to one day.

The Culture books are unbearable. I’ve read I think 4. There is no tension or anima or emotion or interesting psychology; the AI deus ex machina simply handles anything and everything that goes wrong. It’s some of the worst twee ballacks.
Now Dune on the other hand. That there is a sci fi saga. Only the Frank stuff mind you.

Simply nonsense.

Dune, whilst a classic, is at least part fantasy rather than SF.

I disagree with every one of your criticisms and life is too short to enter into detailed discussion of all.
However I am with you on the Dune trilogy by Frank Herbert, more fantasy than science fiction,and even God Emperor of Dune I could be tempted to defend. The 3 following novels in the Dune saga were milking it in my opinion.
The Dune Encyclopedia is well worth acquiring but a decent condition copy is rare and expensive the last time I looked at replacing mine.
