Decided to start a free substack for EFL content 21:08 - Feb 5 with 5191 viewstractordownsouth

I've been meaning to get back into doing some writing for a while and there's not a lot of written EFL content about so I thought I'd add something. My plan is to upload three or four times per month providing I can fit it around work. Unlike many substacks it's free, so subscriptions would be appreciated.

The first upload is about Plymouth's recruitment strategy this season. I'm going to try and write about Town soon, hopefully when results pick up a bit!

That’s very readable, nicely done. I imagine the key to getting anywhere with writing is doing it consistently and relentlessly plugging on social media (not that I know!). Good stuff and looking forward to the next instalment 👍

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Cheers Swansea. I made an account on the Argyle forum and posted the article, which has gone down well and quite a few have subbed. Although I'd probably subscribe to any old rubbish if it had that level of praise for Town in it!

Thanks both for the compliments. I was a little bit nervous about venturing onto Pasoti given the bad blood over the Whittaker saga but everyone was welcoming. Club forums are probably the best audience for an article like this too

New post up. Took a bit longer to research this one because I don't watch enough League Two but hopefully it's still of a good standard.

Next post is up, this time about Derby and Paul Warne. The positivity might seem a little misplaced after their result today but I still think he’s done very well there.

Just had a read of the last few of these, found them very interesting and well written. Will have to see how well the Sheffield Wednesday one ages come the end of the season!

Thank you. Yep, it's quite amazing how they've crumbled since I wrote that. More than happy to jinx them though!

I've also started a squad surgery series, taking a team looking at the gaps and suggesting transfer targets. First up is Wrexham.

Don't worry, Wes Burns is not on the list!

I came across this for the first time, and thought the articles very interesting and well written.

Have you considered trying to get your work into the mainstream, or maybe these days online, media?

I don't suppose there's much of a living to be made, but I suppose it could boost your profile, which could lead to better things.

Thanks mate. I’ve considered monetising but my job doesn’t have a great deal of structure so I can’t commit to the regular number of articles I’d need to write to justify it. It would be great to do something more long term with it but at this moment it’s difficult to know what that would look like so i’m for now I’m just trying to build up a body of work and then will take it from there.
