No trains from Colchester tomorrow… 20:51 - Jan 12 with 1125 viewsChampionsofInnsbruck

On our one home game this month! Given I’m arriving from further down the line than that I’m probably going to leave earlier to account for the inevitable chaos at Colchester Station with the replacement busses.

There can't be another line in the country with engineering works taking place at weekends so often. On the mainline where I live which goes into London, engineering works take place only now and then.

As I like to get the train to games, but try to avoid the replacement buses, I normally drive to, say, Ingatestone or Witham to avoid them, and also break up the journey.

Today I will drive all the way as I can't face the last leg of the journey being by bus, particularly after the game where it will presumably be chaotic.

They would point out that this was planned long before the fixtures were released.

They would also point out that they don’t even consider football fixtures.
What do you think they are running? A service?

It's mad really. Post-pandemic, Saturdays are the busiest day on the rail network and yet they still schedule engineering works regularly on Saturdays.
