There can't be another line in the country with engineering works taking place at weekends so often. On the mainline where I live which goes into London, engineering works take place only now and then.
As I like to get the train to games, but try to avoid the replacement buses, I normally drive to, say, Ingatestone or Witham to avoid them, and also break up the journey.
Today I will drive all the way as I can't face the last leg of the journey being by bus, particularly after the game where it will presumably be chaotic. [Post edited 13 Jan 2024 9:12]
