It was a hard window for a number of reasons, not least the fact we’ve got a forward we clearly think highly of on the treatment table. The Gallagher link made sense stylistically, we clearly chased him and wanted him, but I was never too sold on parting with that sort of cash on someone the wrong side of 25 who, objectively, probably isn’t at the level Hirst was pre injury.
I like that we’ve signed experienced and know how on loan, and invested the transfer fee on a youngster with a potentially high ceiling who can add value now but also hopefully long term too. Makes more sense to me to plug the gap for the rest of this season and take stock again in the summer with Al Hamadi and Hirst when we know what division we’ll be in next season.
Bring on Satdee.

Also, if we are in this division next season we can attempt to sign Gallagher at the end of the season for nothing. Or, we force Blackburn to take the option they don't want to and offer 75% less. |  | | |

I think I'd tend to agree, despite being quite keen on Gallagher a week ago, although it might be outcome bias! But one thing I'm pretty sure of is that, of those three, it's Al Hamadi I'm by quite some way most excited about, and I feel we won't have to wait particularly long to see the fruits of that signing. |  |

It was a strange, oddly dead, window. I just love the fact we find round pegs for round holes with our transfers. For so long that wasn’t the case. I think the additions give us a massive boost and make playoffs rather likely. Top two still a reach given what saints and Leeds can do. |  |
