I think we need a new number 1. But he’s not the solution. A nice idea - but he’s not really that good - and isn’t a technical / ball playing keeper. I worry that the majority of these ‘good with their feet keepers’ are generally overseas - and we have no international scouting network - given we were 2 leagues lower 2 years ago - but I don’t think he’s the ‘one’.

I’m not a fan of - but I think I’d rather play Hdlaky rather than buy Kellerher.

Kelleher is far superior to Hladky. Would be a massive upgrade and a top signing.

Hladky is very good with his feet of course. Kelleher is decent with his feet though. Better than Allison with his feet was the consensus. Obviously Allison is a world class keeper. Kelleher is good enough with his feet but a much better keeper than Hladky.

Kelleher is a massive upgrade on Hladky. I'm not sure he's a realistic target though, can see a more established Prem side coming in for him and I expect he'd cost a fair whack. If it's a deal that's doable then I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Not going to happen same as Pope .We will be looking at a Rushworth, Palmer, Patterson type on wages we can afford.Thats if we are looking at all.

I agree. Think he will be out of our price range.

The Rushworth link seems a lot more likely.

30 million.

'one of only five clean sheets Kelleher maintained throughout the campaign, pointing as much at the constant disruption ahead of him rather than any great failings on his part. Nevertheless, there were a couple of difficult occasions for the goalkeeper, who made mistakes in the 4-3 Premier League home win over Fulham in December and was at fault for the first goal in the calamitous Europa League quarter-final loss against Atalanta at Anfield'

If vaz made those mistakes many would call for his demotion.

Vaz made plenty of mistakes and there were barely any calls for him to be dropped, perhaps one or two suggesting it but not exactly a chorus of calls for him to be dropped. I don't know why people need to make stuff up.

umm, I must be mis remembering that there were many calls for Walton to return.

Sort of a rude reply for so early on the day Herbie.

There really weren't many calls for Walton to return, a few yes but not many. There was debate when Walton was fit as to whether he should come back in given he'd been our established number 1 but Vaz has largely been hacked, even when people have pointed out his errors (of which there were a fair few in the second half of the season).

So it is the use of 'few' and 'many' you dispute?

Not the total fabrication?

A few too many to be sure.

'Many' suggests a lot of fans whereas in reality it was a handful of people suggesting we bring Walton back with the vast majority being supportive, even the majority of people mentioning his mistakes weren't calling for him to be dropped. I don't think it's helpful to imply that it was common amongst many fans to call for Vaz to be dropped after a mistake when that wasn't the case.

Would you suggest there are 'many' now (today) who are calling for him to be replaced- or a few?

Hard to say really as Vas is out of contract and hasn't signed a new one, so naturally people are speculating about us signing a new keeper as we will need one. I've seen people say they don't think we need a new keeper if Vas stays, other than as back up if Walton wants to move on. Personally, whilst I wouldn't have dropped Vas in the run in, I feel he makes too many costly mistakes and it's an area we need to upgrade if we're going to compete well in the Prem. If he goes I wish him well, he's had a very good season and been an important part of the team, if he stays as first choice or back up I'll continue to support him.
