If the Truss administration survived would we be like Argentina now ? on 11:24 - Jun 14 with 1015 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Fortunately we had the BoE to save our pensions and prop up Sterling. A warning to those who think the Government should have control of monetary policy. A truly reckless action, and yet she’s still hanging around politics like a bad smell, utterly shameless. Slightly out of date - but an interesting background into the various defaults and financial crises in Argentina- https://www.bloomberg.com/news/photo-essays/2019-09-11/one-country-eight-default [Post edited 14 Jun 2024 11:27]

As you say, fortunately we have the checks and balances to make those scenes unlikely (less than eighteen months ago i was having my morning coffee and croissant at a café on the square in the footage I linked, but I did have warmth and sunshine then.) However the perpetrators (and Truss is just one aspect of a substantial network of idealogues who manage to combine a Libertarian economic view with hardline Marxist tactics) will persist and continue to push where they think is weakest whilst also using all media available to weaken other areas.

I think you will find that the corpse has been skinned and is now being worn, Ed Gein style, by an amalgam of psychotic politicos...
