Wes Streeting's one of my favourites. A brilliant speaker and comes across as genuinely caring.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Have you read his book, One Boy, Two Bills and a Fry Up? A fascinating read. He has an incredible back story.

Probably the next Labour leader.

There's something rather robotic about Streeting that I find rather disquieting but I sense he would be the choice to succeed Starmer of those behind the scenes.

As it is, I think Darren Jones has done his chances no harm during the election campaign.

The two Bill’s are his grandfathers, one of whom was an armed robber. The fry up is a reference to Streeting’s mother being forced into aborting him. She wasn’t allowed to eat before the procedure so she had a full English in order to put it off.

Streeting grew up in real poverty.

he seemed more human last night, trying desperately to suppress it and toe the line of "it's only an exit poll", but not quite managing it.

he'll have a lot more airtime now to show his true colours

Streeting grew up in real poverty. He isn’t a member of the chattering classes who haven’t been affected the way he has. He understands that delivering for the poorest in society, even if that means using the private sector, trumps political dogma every time.

As the NUS President who supported the introduction of tuition fees, it will be interesting to see his true colours.
