Was driving out through Chediston, Metfield and the rest of the sticks at 8am this morning. It was absolutely glorious and completely empty on the roads which was a bonus. A stark difference to all the flashing ad boards, fire cannon things and smoke we now get at FPR.

When we went to Burnley in the cup it was noticeable how much change had happened to Turf Moor in such a short time, I guess they are mandated at this level but also a way to homogenous something else during the matchday. Oddly, not once during the game did I crave a hot sausage.

Maybe it's the whole experience of the Huddersfield game but the Town, the pub, the walk to the ground seemed far deader than I expected too. I know there's been a debate about empty seats, so I won't rehash it.

Delap's goal was something special wasn't it? That euphoria from the Etihad wasn't quote there, but the quality of the goal made up for it. He's going to be very special for us once we click everything into place.

I thought their goal was an excellent reminder of the levels and how even a mediocre team at this level can be so dangerous, possess so many extra attributes and gears the Championship rarely sees. But I came away feeling we have enough tools for survival, we just need to see how things shake out.

The class of Phillips and the replacement of Cajuste was incredibly heartening. Morsy brings the kind of psychological lift you can't quantify or measure accurately but these two have an athletic and education dynamic that lifts our squad another level and we see right across the team in others too.

Felt a bit like we've upped the quality significantly this window, but sacrificed the teamwork and understanding fostered over the previous two seasons. Obviously we had in incorporate some new players last season, but this many might just take a little longer now we have less games too. Looking forward to where we sit by the time Villa come and visit.

For the Fulham goal, I don't think Ogbene did enough to get close to their player. He was under no presure when he delivered the ball to the crosser and Tuanzebe was ever so slightly in two minds at first for a split second imo. That split second was enough that the crosser was away. Again, in the second period I think Ogbene dangled a lazy leg as Iwobi danced into our box to getca (tame) shot away. Mckenna will sirt that I reckon. Otherwise, Ogbene did a fine job. Will be interesting to see which of Hirst and delap gets the most starts as the season develops won’t it. McKenna lovès Hirst but Delap has been superb.
