I thought we may have over-committed financially in the last transfer window 19:09 - Sep 15 with 1784 viewsCopfordBlue

but 4 games in and it’s clear already that we’ve done the right thing. By the end of this season Delap , Greaves and Clarke will be worth multiples of what we signed them for, the other new signings will, at worst have retained their value. Philips is worth every penny of whatever it is we’re paying to have him for the season.

I am so pleased we have done it. For many reasons:

1) Because we had a core League One squad
2) Because McKenna already proved himself well in the market
3) To show them lot up the road and everyone we meant business
4) Because Leicester spent away and above the limits and were let off
5) Because the squad depth needed demanded it
6) Because we can and because we should try to stay in the Prem as best a shot as we can

The squad needed an upgrade in every department and that is what we got. Defensively we are massively improved, genuine options in midfield and some real pace and quality up top. The amount we spent scared me, but money proving to be well spent. McKenna will help and improve all of them. We already see the benefits and by Christmas we will be fully up and running.

It's almost as if you think you know what you are doing, but the management and owners of the club don't.

True but we all have opinions about our club - team selection, pricing, ground redevelopment, ticketing policy, kit, (in normal circumstances) the manager etc. Many of us have also seen what happens when it does go wrong financially, twice for older fans because the demise in the early 80’s was in no small part due to the Pioneer Stand. The previous owner and most of his managers made some really poor choices that us fans could see at the time weren’t going to work out well.

Very pleased to see already that my fears weee unfounded. Owners, board (particularly CEO) and the management team have once again got it spot it on.
