I was recently asked this about our summer window.
And the more games we play the more it does really feel like we did need a handful more.
We are almost there to being that prem side who can get a few wins going but our injuries are killing us but also our fringe selections kinda take us back to champ level rather than prem.
Taylor for example. In those last minutes. Just standing on Halfway not dropping to get the ball and drive us on just floating and waiting for others to make things happen.
Burns is a shadow of himself.
Chappers. He tries and he looks OK but there's that extra level missing
We've discussed Al Hamadi before. Not a great option to have
Clarke.. probably gonna need him Tuesday now. I hope he comes good at this level but it's a big ask..
We are very close I think to being good enough. January is massive. Not sure what we can do in January but it's a big window.. this current squad doesn't stay up. Its not a slight on anyone involved In it but it's lacking 2 prem quality players for each position.
Can't go losing the next two games now. 2 wins would be welcome. But defo can't lose them.
Keep in the hunt by Jan and hopefully we can have a really positive business end of the season. |  |

Lack of depth was always going to be a problem. Being realistic, the best we can hope for is to be in touch when the January transfer window opens. Under McKenna, the subs have been key in giving us impetus in the latter stage of games, but the quality isn't there now when compared to the oppsition, so that's been lost. One game where we were perhaps on a level when it comes to quality from the bench we scored at the death, and in the other we were let down by two awful refereeing decisions. |  |

At one point people were saying we'd signed too many and we should give more of the L1 lads a go. Can't win.
Today is just one of those days. We lost 1-0 away to a team currently in a European place to a slightly dubious penalty.
Very harsh on Taylor and Chaplin, the latter was pretty good first half.
Agree on Burns, begrudgingly. But he was very important against United, think some games will suit him more than others. |  |

When it comes to right wing, I think we're really missing Ogbene. He was really making a mark against Brentford, and certain games would suit him down to the ground. Today would have been one. Burns is better against teams who want to play football. | |
