The rain it rained 11:17 - Dec 9 with 507 views

Saturday night/Sunday morning it rained.
All through Sunday morning it rained.
It was raining as I got to the pub at midday.

Then just before kick off they turned the sprinklers on.

Any knowledgeable pitch technicians able to explain the reasoning for this to me?

Severe drainage, the pitch loses water at a rapid rate so can become slow ontop quite quickly, hence the sprinklers before and at HT.

It's amazing really, because when play kicks off you can see a small bit of waterlogging as the ball is kicked, but within a minute the waters gone.
