Well at least Delap got an extra 10 minutes rest ahead of next game in 11 days.. 16:06 - Jan 5 with 569 viewsNeedhamChris

Brilliant performance barring a couple of silly challenges, so overall good job McKenna.

However, the decision to take Delap off seemed stupid at the time and even more so now, especially so late in the game. He was still causing a threat, and AAH is so far below PL standard there's no upside to the change.

We will never know, but my feeling is with Delap still on we don't draw that.

So three big mistakes today, 2 silly tackles and 1 baffling substitution.

They have to manage all the players workload to avoid injury which in Delaps case would be a disaster. I would think if we had Hirst fit he would be off earlier, however if the medical staff feel his max is 80 mins then who are we to argue.

I imagine Delap was probably in that red zone of getting a potential injury. The problem goes back to August where we didn't get an AAH upgrade (no disrespect).

You then gamble on Delap not getting injured Vs bringing on AAH to try to see out a game.

A hindsight Catch 22 if you will.

AAH is not up to the level yet and needs to be loaned but he actually holds it up and lays it off fairly well. Substituting Delap made little difference today. Plenty more reasons we drew other than AAH.

Think we put all our eggs in a Broja shaped basket, which then fell to pieces. Tried to get Latte Lath last minute but didn’t happen.

We definitely need a striker asap.
