Is the best compliment we can give JD... 22:02 - Jan 13 with 1014 viewsBondiBlue

...that he basically created a position in mckenna's tactic? The JD position - defensive right-back / right-sided centre back in a 3. It seems like we're signing right-footed centre backs specifically to play the role now. You could even argue that it was JD playing that position so well that allowed us to go and get a super-attacking left back...

Probably. Him and Burns down that right hand side was a large part of our identity in McKenna's early days, and JD being there allowed Burns to go forward and tear defenders apart.

Not to be pedantic but wasn't it McGreal that brought in the back three? McKenna stuck with it when he arrived.

Poll: Who would you play at right centre back on Saturday?
