Two Championship Bikers Killed in Race on 12:51 - May 6 with 345 views | surreyblue | From what I've read it sounds like it was a crash that happened on a part of the track where you wouldn't expect a crash - on a straight just after the start. I'm sure we've all seen the mega crashes in cycling races like the TdF mid way through the sprint and the carnage they can cause, I've not seen the footage but I imagine it was similar just with motorbikes weighing 10x (+) more than a road bike and travelling at 200mph rather than 60. Horrible outcome and thoughts go out to everyone involved.
Two Championship Bikers Killed in Race on 13:03 - May 6 with 286 views | ITFC_Forever | And a 13 year old girl died in Ireland in an Autograss hot rod meting. A sad weekend for motorsport. Many condolences to their friends and families. As an ex-marshal, I know it would have been horrific for the track staff to deal with as well. You always know in the back of your mind that one day it.l could happen, but you hope it never does.

The exit of Old hall is always a bit tricky in a pack on the first lap, there have been some nasty crashes there even in cars. I don't know what the grid setup was like, Oulton is quite narrow on the start line and there's also the problem if you've got a big grid, and there were nearly 50 bikes registered for the supersport championship, the ones at the back down deer leap can't even see the lights. So if theyd narrowed the gaps between positions to fit them all in you get more of a problem into the first corner as everyone is bunched up more. But I think it's just you get 11 bikes in a crash like that the riders are always very vulnerable. Though they wouldn't have been doing 200mph for sure at that point. I knew something was up when I switched on TNT sports and they were replaying MotoGP highlights, but the EPG still said it was BSB. Certainly thoughts go out to those involved and their friends and families.
