Brace yourself for a Cajuste saga 09:23 - Jul 8 with 4957 viewsChris_ITFC

Based on last summer, his medical could be another turning point at any club bar us!

I reckon it’s got a couple weeks to run yet.

Poll: So, how many league wins did you see in person?

What do you mean brace yourself? Have you not been paying attention to the volume of Cajuste news stories since the end of the season?

I mean, people saw “medical booked” and were keen to move on.

But with Cajuste, the medical is where the fun starts!

Think it'll all be done and dusted by the end of this week one way or another. He'll be keen to move, Napoli clearly don't want him, it's whether the Besiktas move happens or not and if it doesn't, whether that opens the door for us. I can't see this being a long running one when all parties are keen to get his future sorted.

I know it’s about money but going to a new country, new players, new system could set him back a few seasons whereas here he’ll be in a very strong position to be a Prem player again in 12 months

He’s ours, I said it weeks ago.

Club have made him the number 1 priority.

RIP Sir Bobby

With someone like Cajuste, I dont expect it to run beyond the end of this week.

We know him, he knows the club. Its ultimatum time.

We need to start landing some players, and if hes not up for it, we move on.

If he is up for it, great!!

#Cajuste to Besiktas is not happening for now. Napoli has offered him to Sevilla as a counterpart for #Juanlu.

Like I said - saga!

We’ve gone from “Besiktas almost done” to “Besiktas not happening” in a couple of days, and from “Ipswich hijacking” to “it’s because of Sevilla” in a matter of hours.

(paraphrasing massively!)

I think now that the price appears to been have set by the Beskitas deal, and it seems to be a bargain, so we've matched it. It's basically made it a direct choice between them and us now at a good price, I like our chances. Could be an Ashton masterclass.

I don't think the price was the issue, Besiktas offered better personal terms

Unlikely we would shift much on those

Not convinced, if Jens REALLY wanted to be here surely we would know by now and things would be wrapped up ala Hirst a couple of seasons ago.

The only Muff in Town.

Sevilla had been mentioned previously, so there may be something in that. Napoli have offered him to other clubs previously with the proposal coming to nothing. Report says not happening "for now", which is in line with the JC holding off on making up his mind.

Meanwhile, Besiktas are closing in on signing Orkun Kökçü from Benfica, which could well have an impact on whether they continue to pursue JC.

Maybe he REALLY wants to assess his options as any normal human being would

This also doesn't mean that he doesn't want to come here

Battling it out with Sevilla. Impressive we’re even in the conversation.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I would say 6 weeks could be PLENTY to look at your options and decide if you want to play for a team you’ve just spent a season with.

The fact that he has been linked with clubs in about six countries suggests to me he is keen to be elsewhere.

Couple of other possibilities:

1) Napoli are keen to maximise his value to them and don't currently think that that involves selling to us.

2) He's keen to come but still thinks he can get better personal terms with us if he hangs on a bit.

From what I was told, we weren't holding back financially even before this latest move.

Not really if clubs haven't come in for him that he might have been holding out for. E.g. an EPL club

I think people forget footballers are human beings sometimes and just expect them to make decisions about every element of their life based on loyalty to one club

Just because he's been linked to elsewhere and may want to play at a higher level, it doesn't mean that he doesn't want to be here too
