Has PSR/FFP been scrapped? 12:18 - Jul 30 with 1008 views | ArmaghBlue | Looking at the amounts the newly promoted teams from league one are spending, it is making me wonder. [Post edited 30 Jul 12:18]

Charlton have spent about £7m I think which is obviously a decent outlay, but from a PSR perspective its probably only about £2m a year to unwind, maybe less, and they're playing catch up in terms of squad. They've not spent much money in years, Ahadme from us was the only player they spent a fee on last season and even that was probably not a lot (certainly not what was rumoured). Going to be an interesting season. You would think the predictable suspects like us, Saints, Leicester, Sheff United should be strong, Brum probably will too. Norwich could be decent, WBA, Watford, Coventry, Boro. Swansea finished really strongly last season under their new manager and have made some interesting signings. They're probably all eyeing playoffs or better. I can't make my mind up on Wrexham. They've obviously got momentum but on paper I'm not particularly convinced by their squad (yet). Hardie, O'Brien and Windass are solid pick ups, I'm not sure they're enough though. £4m on 32 year old Kieffer Moore smacks of desperation tbh, Broady would be a good addition but again its a lot of dough. Mid table for them I think.

Wrexham are spending money on depreciating assets with little resale value. I don't think they sold anyone at a profit since Reynolds/McElhinney took over and I can't see that changing any time soon either. £7.5m for Broadhead is the peak of his value. £4m for Moore is simply mental.

Yeah an odd strategy really. I thought they would keep their powder somewhat dry on transfer fees and build a team of experienced free transfers on bigger wages. Hardie was exactly the sort of signing I thought they would make, then they were linked with Aaron Cresswell and Danny Ings and I was even more convinced that's what they would do. Use the pulling power and wage bill to hoover up some players of that ilk, I certainly didn't see them dropping £11.5m on Moore & Broadhead. I can't see either ever being worth more to anyone else than what they're rumoured to be paying.
