Has he become another KM version of Scott Fraserburgh

Different players. Different skillsets of course. So not comparing them as actual players

But two who for Different reasons just don't actually suit the style of KMs football

I really want him to do well for us. But before and after his injury. All I can say when describing him for us is that he runs around a lot. A helluva lot. Presses well. But I can't say solely from a town point of view that he's offered is much more.

He's had that 1 golden moment v city. But other than that his highlights seem to be pressing.

We need to get the best out of him but not sure how he fits the recent description from KM of us playing to players strengths over players playing roles to the teams requirements.

a niche perspective

Szmodics has had one incredible freak season in his whole career and other than that he’s been bang average. Never rated him and that’s just me being honest, you don’t have to like it. He runs about a lot but has no guile or grace and McKenna doesn’t play to the strengths he does have…..much like Clarke, Taylor, Johnson et al. Truly baffling waste of 100+ million.

And we’re told we shouldn’t expect some kind of results at Championship level with that kind of outlay! Bonkers.

SS thrives in the 10 position and can also play as a false 9. Look at where he used to play at Blackburn. Not out wide.

Playing him on the wing together with our underperforming midfield and useless wingers means we aren't utilising him to the best of his ability. No ammo how to shoot?

His advantage is being able to read the game and positioning himself to be in the right place at the right time. Not run or dribble with the ball.

He’s a good ‘second striker’ but as a 10 in our system he doesn’t link the play enough like a Chaplin for example. Don’t really like him off the left either. Another odd signing?

He’s an inside left player, he’s not a natural number 10 like Chappers who can float into spaces and show that creativity.

But from that inside left, the space Broady used to operate, he’s ready made.

It’s such a glaringly obvious tap in to operate him from the inside left, and return to Davis flying the flank again - the Philogene/Davis combination looks a mess.

I can’t see any other solution that is so obvious to a trio of:
Szmodics - Chaplin - McAteer
