Since Morsy left, one thing we've missed is that player who will have the confidence and composure to go and collect the ball from the goalkeeper and defenders under pressure and then progress it through the lines.
Jack Taylor tried, but doesn't have the turning circle to really pull it off.
Azor Matusiwa has been great, but that's not his forte.
Cajuste can do it, but we prefer to see him further up the field.
Nunez is perfect at it.
So composed at receiving the ball under pressure. He'll also make those big diagonal passes and pick passes through the lines in the way Morsy used to too.
I know it's a controversial move, but emotion aside, he really does seem to be the missing piece of the jigsaw in that midfield. |  |

He did it regularly against us. He gave us a real problem, as he almost dropped into a 3rd CB at times to get on the ball, then next minute he’d pop up in the attacking third. Hard to mark that. |  |

Its not controversial to me, he's turned down 2 contract offers from them lot and pushed hard for a move to us. Its the ultimate humiliation for them and I'm here for it.
He's a very good player at this level, 25 years old, 3 good seasons of Championship football behind him and International experience. At £7.5m I think the downside risk is pretty minimal, he'll hold his value.
He'll bring a bit of guile and ball playing ability to us, comfortable on the ball and can pick a pass. I think Davis will be pleased to see him, we've missed that ability to set the tempo and stretch the play in the midfield, certainly since Morsy left but arguably even before. |  | | |

He could be the one to provide those balls down the line to Leif, like CB used to.
I don’t know what post it’s on, but Joe mentioned he’s probably the closest thing to Hackney in the championship.

I absolutely agree. Even the most sceptical and negative of fans (I may be a candidate) has to see this as a big positive. The fact that he's from Norwich is a real bonus, a hilarious bonus. But just as a player he is, as you say, just what we need.
We need to create chances, and we need to score. He can do the former, and we know to our cost that he can strike a dead ball.
All we really need now is a number 9, and whilst it's too much to hope for that we pinch that one from Norwich, this is now what I'll be crossing my fingers. Unless Kieran sees Akpom as a no.9, which seems doubtful, I would be very surprised if we didn't at least make a KMoore-style swoop even if the shinier baubles are out of reach.
