Put us out of our misery EFL, we all know what you are going to do 17:45 - Sep 22 with 3729 views | Blue_Heath | Result will be awarded to Blackburn due to 10 men very little time left and old precedent of I think 75 mins played? We'd never win the replay with that ref anyway as for some reason that ref hates us.

Please don’t walk under a ladder or open your umbrella indoors, before the decision is announced.

Will do my best, thanks for your concern. Just for a moment put boot on the other foot though, if we were 1 up and they had ten men we'd all be screaming for result to be given?

I would have moaned like fk it would be replayed, but I don’t think many would be “screaming for it to be given” Most people understand how football works and what the precedents are.

If League One strugglers Blackpool managed to get through a game in that weather, why couldn't Championship Blackburn provide a pitch suitable to play our traditional winter sport on? Can anybody who was there yesterday honestly say that was once-in-a-decade rain for the North West of England? It was just fairly heavy rain, during the match. The kind of weather you would expect during Autumn. The Met Office Amber warning was in force from the morning, but emphasised that the heaviest rain would come overnight, not at 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Blackburn should have a pitch that can cope with that. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The problem for Blackburn is that their pitch drains into the river. The river level had risen so much from the rain that it effectively blocked any drainage from the pitch. A pump or two would probably have resolved it, but either they didn't have any or didn't want to pay for it. The fact that no groundsmen were out on the pitch at half-time is unusual and suggests to me that they knew there was no way they could help the water drain. Once the game was stopped, it was just for show. In addition to a replay, Blackburn should be fined and told to pay the associated costs, including for away fans' tickets.

As with most abandoned matches, they will charge for you to attend the rematch. There might be a bit of a discount on the normal price.

Sump and some pumps, holding pond, balance pond, underground lined lagoon Multiple engineering solutions All of which cost money Something the owners seem very reluctant to spend

The players are only paid once, so the club should not charge original ticket holders for the replay. It is not fans' fault that Blackburn's drainage is inadequate.

As Ewood park and the river next to it have been there for many years, and that part of the world has quite a bit of a rainfall, they should ensure that their ground is fit for purpose and not bring the integrity of the competition into question which they have done.. So that being said 3 points for Grifindor…no sorry Ipswich!
