And I might have been worried after Tuesday night...

And I might still be uneasy about our promotion hopes this season, in fact if I had to predict I'd say I don't think we'll go up.

But we should be building a sodding statue of McKenna. The only question mark is where to put it, because we've got a few already.

Post Charlton there was talk of;
"Should Harry Clarke come in at right back?" (This was me)
"Should we be playing a three man midfield"
"Should we play three at the back to make us more solid?"
"Two up front?"
"Should we shoe horn Jack Clarke into RW?"
"Should we drop our captain?"

Obviously some of these calls were more serious than others, but it shows you how much the fan base was/is willing to chuck away the philosophy and mind set that has got us where to where we are since the current management team arrived in town.

This isn't to mock the fan base or to suggest questions shouldn't have been asked, because Tuesday was, for my money, the worst result under McKenna (taking into all context). So I get it.

But it's more to highlight how cool McKenna is, he'll always be the calmest man in the stadium, and he won't let outside noise get under his skin.

I'm aware we may well go and lose at QPR next week, and we'll be back in the pit of despair, but like I say I've a drink.

How far we’ve come?

We’ve spent £200 million, to be slightly worse than under Evans and Mick, who spent nothing.

I’m guessing you started supporting us in league one, if you think this is what elite, and success looks like…, second to a really poor Plymouth side in the lowest league we’ve ever been in, isn’t where the bar sits for our great club. Just so you know.

It’s pathetic standards.

No clube as ever spent so much, to be so consistently poor…, we haven’t looked a team for over 50 games…, if that’s elite you need to get out your bubble and watch Sunderland, Burnley, Leeds, Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton …., some of those don’t have close to our history, tradition and fan base.

They all have better CEO’s and managers though…, and by a distance.

So stop apologising for mediocrity and wake up.

This is who we are…, most expensive EFL side in history, and not even the tallest dwarf.
