Noticeably lighter at 4pm than it was a couple of weeks ago.

I can't remember if it was someone on here who posted it, or if I read it somewhere else, but it appears that it gets lighter in the evenings quicker in the period after 21 December than it does in the morning.
Recent days seem to bear this out because it is still dark at 7am but as you say noticeably lighter at 4pm. |  | | |

My barometer of this is that, by the middle of Feb, I'm walking out of Portman Road at 5pm and the floodlights aren't needed.
I live in the West of the country. Sunset is 20 mins later than in Ipswich so even better. Sometimes I'm watching Town on TV and it's clearly dark at PR but still light where I am.
Still cold till mid April mind. |  |
