Another shocking transfer by Barcelona - effectively exchanging the 23 year old Arthur (who they signed in 2018 on a 6 year deal) for the 30 year old Pjanic from Juventus. What are they doing?
Some really odd transfers by them over the last few years - remember the Paulinho saga signing from China out of nowhere, playing every week and then loaning him back before selling him a year later.
Then signing the likes of Kevin Prince-Boateng and then this season Marlon Braithwaie.
Fantastic club going down the drain with poor decisions/strategy...... sound familiar

Did anyone watch this the other night on Sky?
A rerun of the Barca documentary about the 4 years of Pep Guardiola's time as manager. Very interesting watch and great to see how he operated and the detail that went into the whole philosophy of the club.
People will talk about money and yes at that level it certainly helps, but the basics stay the same. If you have a vision and you structure the whole club in line with that, you can create something beautiful.
Over to you Evans.......

But is there any prospect of hotels being asked to shut?
We have a few staff staying away next week with work.... hotels have not been mentioned in any of the latest press conferences.

How are you reacting to the current situation?
I have a reasonably sized office team (14 people) and then engineering staff working out and about. Have not sent anyone home yet but wondering when I will need to.
Contingency plans regarding remote working for office are in place, not a lot we can do with the engineering staff other than send them home.

About to sign on loan for Barcelona. Strangest January transfer ever?
Former Pompey midfielder, was decent around 2010-2012, but not good enough for Barca.

Postponed for a second time.
That in itself maybe understandable but they had already opened the stadium and let River fans in again - poor organisation by the federation.
Shame I was looking forward to watching that as the first leg was a good game and great atmosphere. Would be a great game to attend one day - anyone ever been?

Can anyone recommend somewhere with decent weather to go end of November/start of December time? Ideally city based so lost to see and do.

Mourinho to be gone by October.
Just seen his press conference last night after latest friendly match. Guy has lost the plot, like a Premier League version of Roy - no joy in anything, sucks all the creativity out of his side and constantly hammers the younger players. Also criticised the American fans 100,000 of them for paying to watch the game- I am sure that will go down well with United's owners and the commercial department!

Now I know our transfer business at times leaves a lot to be desired but just seen Paulinho has gone back on loan to Guangzhou Evergrande a year after Barca paid about £40m for him from the same club.
Played 34 games, didn't lose a game, won La Liga, played in World Cup for Brazil and now back to China.
I know they need to free a non EU space up but still very strange.

On Sky Sports PL Now. Just caught a bit of our game against Bradford at home where Reuser scored those two great goals. Amazing to think we were third in the league that far into the season. Seems a lifetime ago that we were so good. I remember thinking it was always going to be that good, shame really wish I had enjoyed it more considering what has happened since.
However does show the way forward for us again. Burley was interviewed after that game and mentioned the togetherness, spirit and belief in the team. That is what we need with Hurst. We will never have the best 11 individual players so need to be a better team, who know what they are doing. However the one difference from a McCarthy team is they need no fear, to go out and try to win EVERY game and believing that its possible. Not being told how much money everyone else has, how good they are and that a point is a good point. A draw is two lost points, not one gained.

Dougie is still on a free, no doubt the club announces a new 6 month contract this week due to the injuries and lack of proper blokes.....
Sad thing is you can see it happening ala Varney last year!!
Seriously though the worse thing about today is how Mick will revert to the defensive, turgid, matching up opposition football every week just to scrape a few points together.
