Morocco have been declared the winners of the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations after the Confederation of African Football (Caf) overturned the result of their final defeat to Senegal.

I assume due to the walk-off by Senegal that was considered a forfeit?

Dangerous precedent though given its 2 months since the game

I imagine this won’t go down well and a night of terror in store for many .. and years of fallout generally.

Speaks to Morocco's dominance of CAF that they go the dodgy decisions in the first place and then this rather hollow triumph two months after the final.

Still good news for the USA's prospects of a men's World Cup win in the Summer.

Fantastic precedent. Do we think we can get the Leicester and Stoke results changed as well?

Although shouldn't the referee have abandoned the game after the walk-off and then the match would have been awarded to Morocco?
