Even fans of nothing clubs such as Norwich and QPR are chirping, as if what they say/claim has any relevance. One was saying their team had 50 more touches in the opp penalty box than we had but they’ve only had 5 penalties awarded. As if we live in a world where touches in the box is any kind of reliable metric when used without context. It’s all so fking stupid.

They feel it is unfair, unjust that a team should start with a huge financial advantage. I would say to them it is not a clubs fault, they do not want relegation and it isn't them that determines who gets what. Otherwise why is it that Premier clubs get much more in tv rights than the Championship. Also many of these clubs will benefit from getting multi millions from promoted clubs for their players. I suppose the other side of the coin is that they may lose their best players. But it's dog eat dog as we saw with Delap and Hutchinson and if we don't get promoted no doubt a few of our players may be targeted.

The idea that a penalty is in itself a 'lucky' thing to be awarded is stupid. If you looked at every penalty that's been given in the league this season, there probably wouldn't be many that would universally be agreed as stonewall. The vast majority of them fit into the category of 'defending player makes contact with attacking player, attacking player goes down' for which you'll always get opinions either way on whether it's actually a foul or not. Of course in the heat of the moment and the direct aftermath everyone can have a moan about pens and refs etc. but I do genuinely think those that go on about clubs being given a leg-up (or others held back) by a corrupt organisation or 'cheating the league' are the thickest subset of people in existence.

(apart from Cov, but they're just proper weirdos) I've always quite liked them but the bedwetting about how there's a conspiracy to stop them going up is the wettest thing I've ever seen. I think we've benefitted from a couple of soft decisions in the last couple of weeks but the idea that there's some kind of masterplan in place to benefit us (Ipswich Town FFS) and make sure we go up is so insane and yet widely repeated. Boro also got away with possibly the worst decision of the season when Hackney wasn't sent off (and then banned for 3/4 games) for booting some Blackburn player up in the air right in front of the ref. Referees just aren't very good for anyone.
